DOMAIN BOARD

PRESENT Messrs E, T. Field (chairman), Wilson, Sellars, Lambert and Becroft, and acting-clerk, Mr J. C. Rimmer. MINUTES Minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed. TOUCHING THE BOILER Mrs Stokes, caretaker at the Hot Springs Baths, reported- that she had no means of boiling the towels as was expected of her; Mr Harris (the overseer and gardener) had a boiler for his purposes, and therefore it was not available. —The Board decided to inform Mrs Stokes -that the towels must be regularly boiled in future, and that the boiler referred to would be available for her purposes. HOT SPRINGS POST OFFICE A letter was received from the Chief Postmaster, Auckland, stating that he could not see his way clear to remove the Post Office from Goad's Boarding Honse to the Springs, .unjess a general petition was signed by a majority of the settlers. THE LADIES Complaint having reached the Board that there was no privacy for ladies when using the swimming baths, it was decided that in future when the swimming baths are being utilised by either ladies or gentlemen, a notice board to that effect shall be .placed over the door. THANKS TO LADIES Resolved-that the ladies who assisted in providing refreshments for visitors at the late Bowling Tournament, be thanked for their services. THE INTERLOPERS It was resolved that the Board undertake the work of fencing off the swimming bath connection with wire netting in such a way that all bathers must pass through the main entrance and procure their tickets: MORE SEATING OUTSIDE It was resolved that the several seats secured from steamers some time ago, be repaired and painted, and sent out to the Domain. £400 TO SPEND It was decided that the Board call for tenders for the erection of additions to the baths in accordance with the prepared plans. LATER HOURS The Board decided, after some discussion, to keep the baths open until 10 p.m on Saturdays and holidays. This was all the business.
