The Russians report a success" tul bayonet attack on the enemy in the Mlawa district, in the north of Poland.

It is stated that at the battle of Sarykamish the Turks -outnumbered the Russians by ten to one. They advanced over mountainous country sometimes waist-deep in snow, and, adopting German tactics, attacked 'on the front and flank simultaneously. By a strategic retirement the Russians drew them into the zone of artillery fire, and finally routed them.

Lord Kitchener has reviewed the war situation in the House of Lords. He stated that Germany's great advantages, in numei'ical superiority and extensive war preparations were certainly diminishing. Lord Curzon said Great Britain needed an army of nearer three than two million men.
