THURSDAY
The battle round Ypres has been renewed with increased wit increased vigour. The Dunkirk correspondent of the London Daily Chronicle describes in detail three clays' fierce fighting in this regian. The Germans took the aggressive, and the allies replied with an offensive movement which was at first checked but was ultimately successful. The Germans from the north strove to break the allied line, but they were unsuccessful everywhere. The allies were able to drive a solid wedge into the German line. Red Cross Officers declare that the onslaught was the fiercest that has taken place in the Ypres region. It is estimated that there 24,000 casualties along a line only a few kilometres in length.
