MINUTES Minutes of the previous meet" ing were read and confirmed. . CORRESPONDENCE ' The outward going correspondence was approved of. ROAD BOUNDARY LINE A plan of R.atawhiri Road was submitted, showing the dividing line between the part to: be taken under control of the Town Board and the Waitemata County's part. This was passed as correct. The Cierk was instructed to write to the Council,asking them to pay half the cost of two culverts erected by the Board before the division was made. FIRE BRIGADE STATION Mr J. C. Rimmer wrote offering to give the Board a section in Garfield Road for the erection of a Fire Brigade Station. —A vote of thanks was passed to Mr •Rimmer for his generous offer, and the Clerk was instructed to forward the letter to the Board's solicitor to report on powers of the Board with regard to the acceptance of same. DANGEROUS APPROACH Alerter from Mr Carter pointing out the danger of the approach to the Swing Bridge, was referred to the Waitemata County Council, who have control of the bridge. ' • FIRE BRIGADE HETMETS ' A proposal to purchase helmets and gear for the Volunteer Fire - Brigade.was referred to Mr H. M. Wilson. FISHERMEN'S WHARF It was decided to call tenders for improvements to the fishermen's wharf, as' soon as a reply is received from the Marine Department, that the wharf is under the control of the Helensville Town Board. WASTING THE WATER The Clerk was instructed to put an advertisement in the ECHO, drawing public attention to the waste of water by a few individuals, and. to- state that unless this is stopped, the Board will be compelled to curtail the supply. WATER METERS It was decided to purchase water meters, and that Mr Wilson be asked which is the best meter to procure. RENEWAL OF BRIDGE The Road Committee was instructed to submit a plan and specifications for the renewal of Ratawhiri Bridge. FENCING NUISANCE The surfaceman was instructed to report to the Board 'for next meeting what fences, etc., are causing obstruction on the roads, NEEDY REPAIRS It was decided to instruct the surfaceman to put footpath outside Foresters' Hall in Garfield Road, . and water-table , from Becroft's to the Bridge in order. CORRESPONDENCE The following correspondence was received and dealt with : —• From Minister of Marine as follows: Dear Sir,—l am in receipt of your letter of the 9th inst. with' reference tq the grant of the sum of £190 to, defray the cost of proposed repairs and improvements to the fishermen's wharf at Helensville; and in reply state that a letter was Written to the Chairman of the Board yesterday, informing him that the money is now available. I enclose a copy of this letter for your information. " Sir,—Adverting to the Minister's letter to you of the 24th August last, and my letter of the Bth September last on the subject of thq proposed repairs to the fishermen's wharf at'Helensville, I have now the honour, by direction 'qf the ; r of Marine, tq ,infoi:m - you that Parliament haying voted the sum of £190 for repairs to the wharf, this Department will- defray the cost up to an amount not exceeding, that.sum, the County Council carrying out the work in accordance with the plans which have been approved by the Governor- | in-Council.
