New potatoes were in better supply, and market still holds firm as Canterbury are now almost off the market. Poultry came forward in increased supply and the demand was good. Pigs are scarce and wanted. The grain market is very firm and stocks short. POULTRY Hens; 2/6 to-3/2, good 2/ to 2/3 others 1/6 tq Is Qd ; roosters, prime 3s 9d to. 4s 6d, good 3s to 3s 6,d, cockrells 1/ to 2/6 ; ducks, young 2s to %s 6d, old 1/6 to 1/9 ; geese, to 5/*; turkeys, gobblers 7/ to 11/, hens 3/6 to 6/, chickens 4d to9d eaoh, Pigs, 9s to 12/6. FARM PRODUCE New potatoes, prime, li/ 8 d to V/id, others Hd to Id ; old potatoes 5s "to 5s 6d ; onions, 15s to 18s ; .Californian vegetables are scarce and are wanted. DAIRY PRODUCE Eggs fresh Is to 1/1, butter 9d to 9Hd, bacon 9d to lOd, cheese 7cl to 7y z d, honey 3/ to 4/, bulk honey 3dto 3^d. GRAIN Maize 4/ jo 4;'(i, wheat 5./!} to (W ; o.ats 3/6, bran £5 15s, 'shaiifis £? 15s, chaff local £fj 10s: Algerian oats 3/(1 to 4/. FRULT Apples, American 15/ to 17/ ; oranges local 10/ ; lemons, choice 7/6 to 9/6; gooseberries 4/ to 5/. Local oranges, lemons, and gooseberries are all selling well.
