WAIPU RAILWAY

CONNECTION WITH

WHANGAREI

Messrs Gus. McKay and Dan. H. McKenzie, the representatives of the Waipu-Ruakaka Railway Leegue, have just returned from Wellington, and report having done satisfactory business in the capital. They have the assurance of the Minister of Public Works that the Waipu-Whangarei line will be authorised this session, and further thrt a permanent survey will be put in hand before the end of this year • . - The completion of this portion ' of the preliminary work will open the way for a vote on next year's estimates, and be but a prelude to the first contract oiv*^ this section. This will be very gratifying to local residents, who have been anxiously awaiting something definite from the Government in regard to this long-delayed work. —Whangarei "Advocate."
