PARAKAI EUCHRE CLUB.
On Thursday, September 24, the Parakai Euchre Club held the last of the season's euchre socials. A great crowd of card players and dancers rolled up, and Messrs Hunter Bros' brake was well taxed to convey those who went from Helensville, a most enjoyable time being spent. Card playing was indulged in for a few hotirs, and then a dainty supper (provided by the ladies) was partaken of. Mr A. McLeod then presented the season's prizes, which were won by Miss 1. Russell of Parakai, and Mr A. Hunter of Helensville, and also presented the prizes won that evening, the firsts going to Miss I. Russell and Mr Comes, and the consolation prizes to Miss Masters and Mr A. McLeod. Dancing was then indulged in, Mr Over providing delightful music.
Some person or other has got hold of a roll of wire-netting belonging to Mrs E. Little, who would much prefer possession.
The Rev. Isaac Jolly is at present on a visit to Helensville, and will conduct the services at the local Presbyterian Church on Sunday next.
