LEGION OF FRONTIERSMEN

INVASION OF HELENSVILLE

Nine members of the Legion of Frontiersmen came to Helensville, on the invitation of the local squad, amongst whom were Major Murray, Captain Gordon, and Sergt. Sharkey. Included were two Frontiersmen from the Suva SquadroD, who went to Samoa with the Expeditionary Force and returned to Auckland last week. All these visitors may perhaps? be going to Europe in the next force. The party was entertained by the local squad to a supper at McEwin's Hotel, and the yisijtore considerably helped in the direption of songs, speeches, etc., besides explaining tho positions and ideals of tho Legion io the gentlemen present, some of whom are intending members The visitors were on Sunday taken for a tjur of the country, ana visited first the Springs where they had a good time, then on to Mr Evans' at Park hurst, and had lunch in Mc-Mc'Jarthy'.-s bush, the luuch being generously provided by Mrs Jas McLeod, Mrs Rimmer, and Mrs L. McLeod. There were about thirty people preset)t.
