Within the past week 70 new men hafl enrolled in the Dargaville Defence BjH Club and scares more are anxious to j^M but as the Club is only .half equiw^B with rifles they are awaiting the an-|H of arms. The members are donnjß uniform and intend going in for sveekfl drills and parades under the instruct^ of a territorial officer. The Legion | Frontiersmen is refusing dozens of aj plicants who have not the necessarj qualifications to warrant" enrolmen The strength is now considerably' ov< that necessary to form a squadron, anj at an early date a general muster is Is be held, when the full complement a officers will be elected. The company then intends to ride to Whang.ar.ei an< assist in the enrolment qf qualified niei I men in that district!'
