PARAKAI

On Thursday, the 3rd inst., the Parakai Euchre Club held a very successful euchre and dance social in the Parakai Hall. The night being perfect a good many couple travelled out from Helensville in Messrs Hunters' brake, and altogether about twenty couples were present. The first prize for the ladies was won by Miss T. Bradly, of Ohrirangi, and the consolation prize was presented to Miss N. Nicholls, of Parakai, Mr H. Hart and Mr R. Bennett winning the gents' prizes respectively. After two hours ' of euchre, a handed-round supper'--•^^ was well served by the ladies, and to bring a pleasant evening to a close dancing to the very enjoyable music of Miss H. Channon took place, which lasted till imid-night.
