MR. J. Jones, Auctioneer, Victoria and Lome Streets, Auckland, reports :— The market this week has been steady and in most lines last week's rates are fully maintained. Poultry was penned short and the market is firm. Fruit is a shade lower. Pig market very firm, high prices realising. POULTRY Hens, 2/5 to 3/4, good 2/9 to 3/2, special pens up to 4/3 ; roasters' prime up to 4/6, good 3/ to 3/6, ordinary 2s to 2/6; ducks, 2/4 to 3/3 ; geese, to 5/ ; turkeys, gobblers 8s to 13/6, hens 4/6 to' 7/. Pigs, 10/6 to 14/9. FARM PRODUCE Potatoes, Southern (table) £6 to £610s, Southern seed varieties £5 to £6 10, local no quotation ; onions, 8s to 12s ; swedes £2 to £2 15s ; red carrots, £3 to £3 10s ; pumpkins, £5 to £5 10s; marrows, 2s' to 3s sack ; cauliflowers, 2/6 to 3/6 do'z. GRAIN Maize 4/ to 4/ ( 7, wheat 5/ to 5/6 ; oats 3/4, bran £510,5, sharps £8, Algerian oats 4/, barley 3/6, chaff local £6 10s to £6 15s. DAIRY PRODUCE Eggs fresh 9^d to 10^d, butter 8d to 9^d, bacon 9d to lOd, cheese 7d to 7Hd, honey 3/ to 4/, bulk honey 3d to 3^d. FRUIT Apples, dessert choice 7s to 9/, good to 8/6, cookers 5/6 to 7/'; lemons 5/to 7/; oranges, 6/ to 7/.
