DEATH OF ARCHDEACON WALSH
A VERY old and personal friend of the Editor's, in the person of the Yen v Archdeacon Walsh, passed away in Auckland on Saturday l as^ The deceased vyas the son qf Rev/@dw^r-d Wals^ofKilcoqley, Q QU r,ty Tipperary, Ireland, but who fqr many years during the late archdeacon's b pyhood resided in France. Archdeacon Walsh came to New Zealand with his friend, Archdeacon Willis, in 18,66 and for some years was engaged in farming pursuits. He entered St. John's College in 1872, was ordained deacon in 1874, and priest in 1976 His first charge was at Waitara, after which he took duty for a time .at St Mary's, Parnell. Later still he worked m Wamiate North and Kawakawa.
