WAIKIEKIE DAIRY COMPANY
SATISFACTORY RETURNS
THE annual meeting of the Waikiekie Dairy Company took place on Saturday, Mr Currie being in the chair.
The annual balance - sheet, which showed a very satisfactory state of affairs, was read and confirmed.
As the result of a discussion, it was ascertained that the machinery was in a very efficient state, which was due to the popular manager, Mr Cameron.
Shareholders should feel well satisfied with the year's returns, .considering- that '-the""Company" paid out to suppliers ll"06d per lb clear, after reducing the indebtedness of the factory by £200 odd, and this against expenses in the form of 36s for coal deliveied, 22s 6d a ton cartage of butter and goods to steamer, and goods from steamer, and then steamers charges on top of that.
The correspondent says— " I think we may justly pride ourselves on receiving the highest returns per pound of butter-fat in the North."
