SUBURBS V. WATERSIDERS
This was a most amusing game, and the Watersiders, for men who had not previously played together, put up a really good fight. . Noticeable among the ■ Watersiders for their play, although both men had played in previous match, were V. McLeod and Tukekino. Suburbs kicked off, a line-out following. C. McLeod got the ball and carried it right through, securing a try for Suburbs, but failed to convert, although it was touch and go, the ball striking post and glancing back. Even play followed. Watersiders rushed, and then after a line-out, followed by a scrum, Suburbs got a free. From a line-out Watersiders got a free. The whistle sounded for first change with the scores as follows: Suburbs ... ••• 3 Watersiders' ... ... 0 Watersiders kicked, line-out following for off-side play, and Suburbs got a free. Watersiders got a mark, and G-. Bradly took the kick, but failed to score. Even play followed till the whistle sounded for half-time. Suburbs -. ••• 3 Watersiders ... ... 0 Suburbs kicked. The ball was kept in play for some time, until Watersiders got a free, a line-out following, and then rushed the ball into Suburbs' McKenzie got the ball and carried it through, securing a try for Watersiders, but failed to get the major score. Even play followed to the end of the third change. Helensville ... ••• 3 Watersiders ... ... 3 Watersiders kicked. Hart got the ball and scored another try for Suburbs, but did not convert. The game from this out was even, and the play fast. No further score was registered, Suburbs winning by three points. Suburbs ... ••• 6 Watersiders ... ••■ 3
