THE KAIPARA AND WAITEMATA ECHO WITH WHICH IS INCORPORATED "THE KAIPARA ADVERTISER & WAITEMATA CHRONICLE." HELENSVILLE, FRIDAY, JULY 3, 1914 WANTED-A SHOW SECRETARY
THE Helensville Agricultural and Association are in the unfortunate position of requiring a capable and pushing Show Secretary, and advertise for applications accordingly at a salary of £30 per annum, receivable up till July 16th inst., when it is to be hoped a rsady response will be accorded. The real life and success of a Show devolves much upon its secretary, and much more depends upon his energy and abilities than some people imagine, and let us remind one and all concerned that a good man and one who knows his business, is not to be picked up every day. Of course, .amongst a city population it is easy to choose a good man from a crowd of applicants, but not so in a country community, where almost every man of ability for such a position has his time fully occupied. And in Helensville proper there may be few willing, with time to spare and capable, likely to come forward and offer their services, still we must live in hopes that a good choice may be made by the Executive Committee. A great drawback to the main success of our Shows lies in not having a "permanent" Secretary
