WAIROA

The residents of Dargaville are getting up a petition against the centralisation of the Helensville North railway station from its present position. We understand the petition is being freely signed. The Union Steamship CompuDy's large steamers Katoa, loaded with one and three-quarter million feet of sawn timber, sailed for Sydney on the 11th inst. The steamer loaded at Tatarariki. Twelve thousand logs were brought to tidal Avatera by last fresh for the Tatarariki mill from the Maungakahia district. Mr S. C. Hawkins has a thousand logs out and seven thousand on the move towards tidal waters. The Sellars-Allen s.s Tuirangi has jbeen on the slip for the past week.
