IS THIS WORKMANSHIP?
TO THE EDITOK
Sir, —As a ratepayer, though not usually one of the growlers, I wish to ask the Town Board if they approve of the condition , in which the footpaths and streets are left where the water connections have, recently been made to the boundaries of people's houses. The trenches have been filled in anyhow after the pipes were put down, and just a little care and attention would have made all the differ- , ence. It is particularly noticeable where the surfacemen have just made decent footpaths ; for the carelese method of filling in the trenches' quite spoils what were reasonably good footways. Now there are holes left in them, and the filling that should have been stamped in again lying about in any fashion. Surely the Board will not pass this as 'y-ifeood workmanship, Mr Editor. — I am, etc., A Casual Growler. 27/4/14.
