A local resident while travelling between Wellington and Lyttelton on the Waihme a few days ago, was addressed by a young man in uniform and for a time the resident could not place this man but in a few minutes recognised an old Waverly school boy, in the person of Master Roy Mancer, who is now wireless operator on the s.s. Waihine. After a few minutes' conversation the invitation was given and accepted to visit the wireless room and there in the tiny room the wonderful working o f wireless wag explained. " Are you not lonely?" the operator was asked. "Oh no," was hereply."
