SHELLY BEACH WHARF.
At last week's Waitemata county council meeting, the Minister for Marine, the Hon. Fisher, wrote denying the accuracy of Mr McLeod's information concerning the proposed wharf at Shelly Beach (Kaipara Harbour), which he had conveyed to the council. Mr McLeod had reported that the Minister had agreed to give a grant of £150, providing the county provided a similar amount. Mr Fisher said that as a qertain amount of the adjoining land was to be given to the public, Mr Me Leod would be given some consideration, but he could not bind himself to any public work in the district without first ascertaining the views of the council thereon. If the council considered the work necessary, he would give it every consideration.
Mr. McLeod maintained that what he had reported was correct, and on his motion, it was decided to inform tftie Minister- tl}afc the work was necessary, and to makce application for the grant:
