THE GOOD TIME.
From accounts received by prominent members of the Government party (says the Otago Daily Times) it would appear that the party as a whole is well satisfied with the present condition of affairs in the Dominion. Naturally, pleasure is expressed at the success that attended the flotation of the four and a-half million loan. It is anticipated that in the coming session the position of the party will be further strengthened, and that, as a result, in the election, at the end of the year, the Government party will be returned with a substantial majority. The recent caucus of the Liberal party in Wellington has not in any way damped the ardour of Government supporters. The csucus was not well attended, only about 20 members of the party being accounted for. If the Opposition party starts on a campaign throughout the country, there are members of the Government side who are ready to stump the Dominion from the North Cape to the Bluff in the interests of the party in power, in order to ensure a fair presentation of their case to the public.
