PRESENTATION TO MR HARVEY

A very pleasing function took place at the Te Pua School last Wednesday afternoon. :This was the presentation to Mr J. H. Harvey, head teacher, of a handsome silver afternoon tea cruet and case of silver salt-cellars and spoons, procured by the children of the school, as a small memento on the occasion of his leaving this district to take up duties at Waihi.

Mr Jas. Newman, secretary of the Committee, spoke briefly on the good work done by Mr Harvey and of the high esteem in he was held, by the parents and scholars.

The gifts were then presented to Mr Harvey by Misses Maggie Me Naughton and Bertha Vercoe, Mr Harvey suitably respemding. The singing of "For He's a Jolly Good fellow," and three cheers for Mr Harvey, closed a very pleasant halfhour,
