At Westfield Yards on Wednesday, fat cattle came forward in average numbers, and sold at fully last week's rales Best oxen sold to 23s pei 1001b, others 28s to 81s ; cows and heifers, 26s to 29s ; steers sold at from L 8 10s to Ll4 los ; cows and heifers, L 4 los to 1/9. Veal calves came forward in large numbers,, and showed no improvement in prices. Heavy weights sold to L 4 10s, othcis L 3to L 4 ss, lighter sorts 35s to JL2 18s, smaller and fresh dropped 3s to 30s. Sheep were penned in full supply, aud sold at last week's rates. Best wethers sold at from 19s 9d to Ll 63 for second pri/.etakers at the show, others 17s (3-1 to 19s 3d ; ewes, best 18s 3d to Ll os for secund-prize takers at the show, othors 10s 3d to 17s 3d. Lambs, in full supply, advanced in prices ; the show lamb's, lirst-prize takers, from Mr Thos. Fl en wood, realised Ll 2s Gd); second-prizetakers, from Mr George Coxhead, Ll 0s Gd ; first-prizetakers from Mr Fred Wills, for longwools,1 £1 0s 3d, second-prizetakers 19s 6d ; second-prizetakeis, suitable for butchers" purposes, Mr P. Sutton, IDs Gd others, first quality jos Gd to 19s Gd, othois 10s Gd to lis 9d ; store ditto, 6s 6d to 10s 3d.
Pigs were penned in good supply, and again sold at low or rates, Baconers, Ll los to L 2 10s ; larpe porkers, Ll 10s to Ll Ms ; porkers, Ll 3s to 28s.
