Alfred Buekland and Sons' Sales.
Messrs Alfred Buekland and Sons report:— At our weekly Westfield fat stock market on Wednesday, Nov. 19, we sold fat cattle to the number of 385 head. Competition was steady throughout, last week's values being easily sustained. Choice ox sold to Ll 12s, prime Ll 8s to Ll 10s, cows and heifers Ll 3s to Ll 7s. Steers ranged in price from L Bto Ll4 17s 6d. Seven heavy nice quality bullocks from Mr William Robinson, of Three Kings, averaged Ll4 lis sd, cows and heifers L 4 to LlO 17s 6d. The 82 fat and young calves sold readily at ruling rates. Runners L 4 5s to L 5, heavy suckers L 3 5s to L 4 3s; mediumL2 5s to L 2 17s, lighter sorts Ll 10s to L 2 2s, small and fresh dropped 10s to LI ss, weedy 3s to 7s. There was an average yarding of mutton, and all of nice, quality. The demand was strong throughout, and values very firm. Extra heavy prime shorn W6thers Ll 4s to Ll 6s, heavy prime Ll Is ,6d to Ll 3s 6d, lighter 18s 6d to Ll Is, lighter Ll 3s to Ll 6s 6d, extra heavy shorn ewes Ll Is to Ll 3s 3d, good 16s to Ll ; best woolly ewes Ll 7s to Ll 103 3d, others Ll to Ll 4s, shorn hoggets i7s 9d penned). A fair supply of lambs were better worth. Best sold to 18s 6d, good 14s 6d to 16s, others lis to 14s (149 sold). Pigs were penned in average numbers. Baconers and choppers were easier in price. Choppers L 33s to L 3 7s heavy baconers L 2 15s toL3 Is, lighter L 2 5s to L 2 lis, large porkers L 2 Is to L 2 Bs, lighter Ll lis to L 2, small Ll 4s to Ll 7s (137 penned).
