At Westfield Yards on Wednesday, fat cattle came forward in full supply, and sold under steady competition at last week's rates ; best oxen, selling to 33s per 100lb. Steers sold at from L 8 12s 6d to Llo 17s 6d ; cows aud heifers, L 5 to LlO : a draft Q.f 40 steers froLr Messrs Iteid Eros., Waerenga, averaged Ll3 10s 6d each. Veal calves came forward in less numbers, and sold at laic rates ; no heavy weights yarded ; medium weights, L 2 15s to L 3 lOs, lighter sorts 20s to L 2 os, sandier and fresh dropped 3s to 1 8&. Sheep came forward ,- n full supply, and sold at fully late rates. Best wethers, 18s 6d to '/Is ; ewe? in wool, 20s 6d to 34s 9d ; shorn ewes, 17s 6d to 24s ; hoggets i 15s 6d to 18s 3d : lambs, in full supply, prices were lower than last week. Best quality, 15s Od to Li, others 10s Od to 15s 3d.
Pigs came forward in less number than usual, and sold at lower rates ; baconeis, L 2 10s to L 3 • porkers, 35s to 42s ; weaners, 15s to 17s Od.
