Alfred Buckland and Sons' Sales.

Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons report :—

At our weekly Westfield fat stock market on Wednesday, Nov. 12, our entry of fat cattle numbered 340 head, the quality of which was first class. There was a steady demand throughout, at values-which were about 10s below last week's quotations. Choice ox to Ll 12s. prime Til BstoLl 10s ; cows and heifers, Ll 3s to Ll 7s ; steers ranged in price from L 8 10s to to Ll 8 2s 6d (the latter price was obtained for a steer fattened by Mr John Massey, of Puketutu Island, and was purchased by Mr Thos, Baster, Ponsonby Eoad); cows: and heifers, L 4 10s to L 9 17s 6d. An average supply of fat and young- calves sold at ruling rates ; no runners offered. Heavy suckers L 3 5s to L 4 2s 6d, medium L 2 5s to L 2 15s, lighter sorts Ll 7s to L 2 2s, small and fresh* dropped 7s to 14s, weedy 5s to 6s ; 71 sold.

There was a full yarding of fat sheep, which met with a firm sale at prices slightly better than last week. Prime heavy woolly wethers Ll 7s 9d to Ll 10s 9d, medium to heavy Ll 5s to Ll 7s ; extra heavy prime shorn wethers Ll 3s Ud to Ll 4s 9d, heavy prime Ll Is od to Ll 3s, lighter 17s 9d to Ll 0s 6d ; extra heavy prime woolly ewes, Ll 7s Gd to Ll 10s 6d ; others in their wool, 17s Od to Ll 5s ; best heavy prime woolly ewes, Ll 7s 6d to Ll 10s 6d ; others in their wool, 17s 6d to Ll 5s ; best heavy prime shorn ewes Ll Is to Ll 3s 3d, others shorn 16s lo Ll ; woolly hoggets, 17s 6d to Ll 3s 9d ; 2913" sold. Lambs came forward in extra large numbers, and consequently prices were lower. Best heavy 16s 6d to 19s 3d, good 14s to 16s, others 10s to 15s 6d ; 502 sold.

Pigs were penned in lesser numbers, prices remaining the same as last week. Baconers L 2 15s to L 3 3s, light li'J, 8s to L 2 13s: large porkers L 2 4s to L 2 12s, lighter Ll lOs to L 2 2s, small Ll 5s to Ll Bs. Store pigs were in demand, Ll 3s to,Ll 9s, weaners 19s; •72 penned.
