Helensville A. and P. Association.
At a General Committee meeting- of the above, held last evening, Mr Jas. McLeod (president) was in the chair, also in attendance were Messrs J. S. McDonald, M, Hafford, J. A. Wilson. H. Aitkenhead, Jas, Hand, M. H. Sheffield, N. W. ■ Rimmer, W. Ellett, C. H. Spinley, L. McLeod, J. Reynard and J. S. Rimmer. Donation for Tile-Draining. Among the correspondence was a letter from Kaipara Rugby Union, forwarding cheque» for £8 8s Od as donation towards tile-draining of show grounds ; included in this sum were donations by Mr E. H. Cucksey of two guineas and Tui MeEwin one guinea.—Tho Secretary was instructed to send a letter of thanks. Dairy Cow Competition. Twenty-two entries were received for the Dairy Cow competition, for which the following stewards were appointed :—Helensville entries, Mr J. 0, Rimmer ; Woodhill, Mr R. Mackie ; Parkhurst, Mr J. Archibald ; Te Pua, Mr J. A. Wilson ; Parakai, Mr W. Harris. The stewards will visit each farm on Thursday evening, November 20th, and see that the animals entered are milked dry, and will again attend on the following morning to ascertain the weight and get a sample of miik given by each cow in the competition. The animals in competition are entitled to a period of thirteen hours between Thursday night and Friday morning's milking. The Strikes : An appreciation. Resolutions were carried placing on record the Society's appreciation of the action of farmers and others who had come forward at great. inconvenience to themselves to open up the port of Auckland by enrolling as special constables for the protection of farmers' interests and to assist in maintaining law and order ; also expressing appreciation of the action taken by the Mayor of Auckland and all those in authority in dealing with the situation. Tbe first resolution was moved by Mr Spinley and seconded by the Chairman, whilst the latter was moved by the Chairman and seconded by Mr Aitkenhead. The Secretary was instructed to convey the resolutions to the Officer in charge of the Domain camp and to the Mayor of Auckland,
Subsequently the Executive Committee met and put through various routine business, also passed a number of accounts for payment.
