At Weptfield yards on Wednesday, fat cattle were yarded in average numbers, and sold at late quotations, although the market was firmer. Best oxen sold to 32s per 1001b, others 29s to 32s • cows and heifers, 27s to 30s ; steers sold at from L 7 10s to LlB 10s ; cows and heiferu, 27s to 30s ; steers sold at from L 7 10s to LlB 10s ; cows and heifers, L 4 10s to LlO 17s 6d. A draft of steers from Messrs Cotter Brothers, Te Kuiti, sold at from Lll 2s fid to LlB 10s Veal calves came forward in good numbers, and again sold at high values. Heavy vealers sold at from L<l to L 5 9s, medium weights L 2 18s to L 3 iss, lighter 80s to L 2 os, smaller and freslwlropped 4s to 21s. Sheep were penned in full numbers, and sold at tully last week's rates. Best wethers sold at from 29s to 32s 9d, others 24s to 28s Gd ; heavy ewes 2Gs to 29s (Jd, others 20s to 25s 3d ; hoggets sharply advanced in prices, best quality 24s fid to 30s, others 17s b'd to 23s 9d ; spring lambs were yarded in more than average numbers, best selling from 17s Gd" to 21s 3d, others !3s (3d to 17s. Pigs were penned in less numbers than usual, and ad\anced in prices. Baconers sold at L 3 10s to Li os ; large porkers, L 2 12s to L 3 5s ; porkers, L 2 to L 2 10s ; slips, 21a to 28s ; weaners, IGs to 18s oach.
