Alfred Buckland and Sons' Sales.
Messis Alfred Buckland and Sons report:— At our weekly Westfield fat stock market on Wednesday, Sept.^ 10, our entry of beef comprised 379 head, including many heavy prime bullocks, and pricos for these were similar to, if not firmer than, last week's rates, Ordinary-quality cattle were a trifle easier. Choice ox sold to £1 13s, prime £1 9s to £1 11s, cows and heifers £1 5s to £1 9s, steers from £8 10s to £i 72s 6d, cows and heifers £4 to £11 ss. A truck of show bullocks from Mr J. S. Browne, Burnside, 'Hinuera, averaged £16 3s, and 16 dairy choice-quality steers from : Messrs R. aud W. Gtollan, Panmure, averaged £15 10s 7d. Runners made L 5 10s to LS 12s, heavy suckers L 3 8s to L 4 10s, medium suckers L 2 6s to L 3 fis, light Ll 5s to L 2 2s, small and fresh-dropped 10s to Ll 4s, fresh-dropped and weedy 3a to 6s (152 sold). The sbeep pens were moderately filled with mutton of nice quality, the bulk being heavy prime wethers. There, was a steady demand t .with little or no alteration from last report. Extra heavy prime wethers made Ll )2a to Ll 13s 9d, heavy prime Ll 8s to Ll 11s, medium to heavy Ll 4s to Ll 7s 6d, light and unfinished Ll 2s to Ll 3s 9d (1893 sold). Spring lambs from Messrs r jreo. Cox, W, Westney, andO. Levett, of Mangere, sold at from 16s to Ll ls 9d (20 sold).
Pigs came forward in average numbers, and met with a ready sale at last week's advanced rates. Ohopp* ers made L 5 to L 6 7s 6d, heavy baconers L 4 to L 4 9s, lighter L 3 2s to L 3 19s, large porkers L 28s to L 2 18s, smaller Ll 14s to L 2 ss, light L! 8s to Ll 138, slip^ Ll Is to Ll 5s 6d, weaners 14s to 18s (174 sold),
