The Education Board election resulted as follows : —West Ward —G. J. Garland 402, S. M. MooreJones 277 ; East Ward —William Auld 471, R. D. Duxfield 344, D. C. Martin 226; North Ward—E. C. Purdie 727, G. W. Murray 428. The School Committees' Association won two seats, their representatives being Messrs W. Auld and E. C. Purdie. A verdict for £500 damages was givon against the Federation of Labor at the Supreme Court yesterday. At the annual meeting of shareholders of the Auckland Farmers' Union, Mr M, Harding, chairman of directors, who presided, congratulated the shareholders on the success of the past year's operations, which he attributed to the high prices ruling for wool, butter and stock. This, as he points*! out, was in spite of the past dry season, with its accompany* ing fires. In conclusion, he urged the introduction of fresh capital to meet the requirements of new business. The balance-sheet, showing a net profit on the year's working of £2806, was adopted. Messrs A. E. Harding, M, Harding and A. Finlayson were re~ elected directors.
