At Westfield yards on Wednesday, fat cattle were yarded in average supply, and sold a shade easier than last week, prime oxen selling to 30s per 1001b, others at from 25s to 30s per 1001b ; cows and heifers, 18s to 25s per 1001b ; steers. L7 15s to Lls 17s 6d ; cows and heifers, L5 10s to L8 15s. A small draft of steers, extra well fatted, from Mr Jno Massig's Aka Aka-Waiuku farm, averaged Lls 3s. Veal calves were yarded in average numbers, at lat© quotations. Heavy vealers sold to L4 5s ; medium weights, L2 10s to L3 12s ; others, 30s to L.2 2s ; lighter sorts, 20s to 30s; smaller and frosh-dropped, 3s to 18s. Sheep came forward in extra large numbers, and declined in prices, although quotations are the same. Best wethers sold at from 22s to 27s ; one small, exceptionally well done, pea, 35s 6d ; 'other wethers, 18s to 22s ; inferior fatted, 13s 6d to 17s 9d ; heavy ewes, 19s 3d to 24s 6d ; others, 13s 6d to 18s 9d 5 hoggets, best quality. 15 6d to 18s 9d ; others, 12s 6d to 15s 3d.
Pigs were yarded in less numbers than usual, and again sold at high rates, baconers selling to L4 12; porkers, L2 5s to L3 10s ; smaller, Ll 4s to Ll 18s
