FOOTBALL
A match was played on Saturday between tennis representing Helensville and To Pita schools. The latter school played every available hoy of of 9 years of ago and older, but could only raise 12 ; the match was therefore played 12 a side.
Except for about 10 minutes in the turd spell, during which Helensville scoiel three tries, the match was fairly even ; but superior knowledge of the game lefc Helensville winners at the finish by 15 poiDts to G. For tho winners tries were scored hy J. Masters (3) S. Airov and \Y. Dicknian and the two former boys did the lion's share of the work all through, though W. Megson and L- Johnst-ne were also noticeable. U. Bradly scored hoth times for the losers, after good rims; hut the best play was shown b v P. FeroUJ, at half hack. Mr E. H. Cucksey made a most efficient and instructive referee. It is expected that a return match will be played at an early date. In the Country week tournoy at Auckland the Northern Wairoa team won the A grade and Hokianga secured premier position in the B. teams. The Auckland A team defeated the Country team on Saturday ly 30 points to 3: and in tho B match Auckland team bent the Couutry reni esentauves by 28 against 3.
