KAIPARA RUGBY UNION.

A rep. trial match between A and B teams took place last Saturday at Helensville. The A side included neaily all the players regarded as likely to be in the rep team, but their play could scarcely be claimed to be superior to that of the opposing team on the day. Indeed the rep players gave a very dispirited exhibition in contrast with the lively play of their leas talented opponeots, and that the gam.9 ended in favor of the A'swas no criterion of the play, as both tries scored were questionable, the incidents .escaping the referee's notice. For the B's Masters got a good try early in the second half, The A team had a decided advantage in getting the ball from scrums, but at all other points the opposing vanguard proved equal. Right tnrongh the game the B team played with dash and ginger, whilst their opponents, ' although having many opportunities, did not use them to the best advantage, At the Rugby union meeting on Tuesday evening the following resolution was adopted:— "That the proposed Country week in Auckland be abandoned owing to the lack of interest shown by a number of the players selected to make the trip. It is understood that some of the players "bave not much time" for the Auckland Rugby Union, hence their reluctance to make the trip, but their action is not yery pleasant f ox- the local Union after the efforts made to get a team away to Auckland. The Union further decided that the matches set down for the 14th inst be played next Saturday, as follows:— "Waimauku v Helensville, Referee Mr Durand; Parakai v Kaukapakapa Referee, Mr A. Garry.
