Awaroa Bowling Club.

A general meeting of the above Club took place last Thursday evening. There was a good attendance. Mr A. J. Hill was voted to the chair and Mr Hammond appointed Secretary to the meeting. Mr Bishop reported that the Great Northern Brewery Co had made a donation of one guinea to the club • the Campbell Ehrenfried Co had presented the Club with a lovely pair of howls, and Hancock and Co. had also advised that they would present a pair of bowls to the Club.—lt was decided that the Secretary write a letter of thanks to each of the donors. The rules of Dominion Road club were read, and after slight alteration were adopted. It was decided that the club colors be black and gold. The following officials were elected for the ensuing year ;~ Patron, Gordon Coates Esq M.P, Vice-pre-sidents, Messrs A. Bishop, Bell, J A Megson, A, Becroft, J. Carter, F. Dye G,, Fleming, Leydon, Dr Memhold and Capt Ross ; Secretary and Treasurer, Mr ju. Thurlow Field; Management Committee, Messrs R. J. Walters, F. W. Lambert, F. W. Strange A J Hill, D, L. Bailey, H. Booth and A. M. Hammond ; Auditor Mr H. W» Stringer ; Green supervisor, Mr Murray. The Secretary was instructed to pay a deposit of £10 on the section to be purchased for a bowling green.
