Bowling Club.
The adjourned meeting of the Bowling Club to consider the question of getting a suitable green in Helens-« ville took place last night, the president, Mr J. McLeod, in tbo chair.
The reports of the committee showed that there were three sites on offer. One owned by Mr D. Stewart, situated near the tennia courts, was available for £50, a donation ol £10 returned, and easy terms for payment; another was owned by Mrs Oxley and situated nearly opposite to the Advertiser office, available for £100 on easy term? ; and the other, owned by Capt Sellars, just below his residence at Helen&yille South also at a cost of £100. The Secretary reported that about £100 of debentures had been promised, but this was chiefly subject to the central ground being selected.
Eventua^y the meeting was l'urther adjourned to noxt Monday, and in the meantime Mr Jackson, (engineer) be asked to take levels of Mrs Ox ley's sectiun, so that a comparision of cost can be made with the other proposed sites.
