Sabbath Desecration.

(Continued from last week.)

At a Methodist Episcopal Conference held in Sulpher Springs, Tex, Nov27, 1905, the Sabbath Committee said :—" Ours is a Christian nation and it hinges on Sunday observance, and a Christian nation hinges on a Christian Sabbath." Emerson says : " Sunday is the core of our civilization, and institutions, therefore nothing so vitally concerns our nation or the Church of God, as the perpetuation of the Sabbath. Not only religion, but freedom for our common people is at stake. Governor J. M. Pattison, executive official of Ohio, said, in his inaugural address : "If America is to maintain her position as the nation peculiarly favoured of God, and the one of all others that is to have a great destiny, we must forever maintain our respect and reverence for this holy day.

"While the Republic endures, let us advocate what the great masses of all the people believe in—Our American Sunday and tbe Christian Sabbath. We should not forget that " righteousness exp, lteth a nation and that lawlessness degrades it." / (To be, continued.) G. J.
