* The Northern Wairoa Kugby Union intends to open the season on May 17. Fivn senior district clubs are now affiliated with the union, each also having junior team?, and the prospects for the season are cheering. It was decided to take part in the " Country week " iixtures at Auckland, and in addition the Union <\\pejts to arrange representative matches with the Whangarei and Ilelensville Unions. The wet weather last week end preVented any practice being obtained locally. The players, however, seem keen to get going, and the Unions will endeavour to accomodate them as soon as the Territorials are -back again.
