-.'.'' The general < meeting... of the Helensville club held last week was attended by about fourteen members. Mr Tui McEwin- was: voted to the chair. The chief business was the appoiotuient of a selector or selectors of the team to play matches. Eventually Mr James Downer was appointed tor that position. V
•The chairman.said that it had been hoped to start matches On the first Saturday in .May, but owing to the Mounted Pifies being away at camp this could not be done and a start would have to be made the second or third Saturday. There had baen no word yet from Kaukapakapa about a team, but this would give them time to get a team together.
■ The question of practice matches was discussed, and it was agreed to try and get a matcvh against the Kshermeii on the ensuing Saturday.
General pleasure was expressed that the Show Committee intended to have the ground improved as early as possible.
