Followers of the Rugby game have started to practise, and the opening match of the season is now being looked funvaid to with interest.
A letter has been received by Mt E. Cucksey fron- fh e Auckland Rugby Union in reference to the proposed " country week," a scheme t<> get the country representative teams to play a series of games in Auckland The distant Unions would receive financial assistance, but it was c -nsidered that Kaipara Union was favourably enough-, situated for trotting to Auckland without any help necessary,
Mr E. Cucksey will attend the annual meeting ot Acuklund Rue by Union ou Fiiday evening, and may be depended upon to do his be&t for football interests iv this district.
