Bowling.

HELENSVILLE V. RIVERHEAD.

Members of the Riverhead Bowling Club visited Helensville during the week end to try conclusions with the Helensville Club bowlers. Two rinks were played the local players getting the best of both. No 1 rink was Riverhead, Messrs F. Deacon, J, Norton, I. W. Muimuir, G. Clefton (skip) ; Helensville, Messrs Lambert, W. Ellett, W. Cullens, and G. Murray (skip). The visitors held evens up to the 6th head when they fell away and the local team winning the next seven heads led by 16 to 4 at the 13 th head. From this to the 20th head the visitors only scored two while the local players added 10 scores being 26-5, 3up on the last head brought Riverheads total to 9 against Helensvilles 26.

No 2 rink was also won by the local players by 18 to 14, a very close and interesting game. The card of this game was not handed in therefore we cannot comment opon the play. A return match will be arranged within the next fortnight, and no doubt the losers will be able to turn the tables.
