A return match was played ori the Springs green on Thursday last »s a result of the one held, last week when No. 1 team weie beaten by 33 to 5. , Messrs Simcock and McLeod being absent, their places were filled by U. McEwin and J. C. Rimmer, the former taking skip of No. 1 team and Cullen taking lead, Rimmer taking lead of Harris' team. Park and Stringer keeping their old places. Play ■was fairly even up to the 6th head , which was burned, the 7th head being ,4to 5. The next 5 heads went to No. ■' 2 team, the 13th head gave No 1 three v up, Iringing their total to 7 against 14. The remaining 8 heads were keenly contested, 5 single hea^s being won by No. 2 team, their opponents gettitig a 1 and 2, the remaining head being burned. The winners of last week thus scored another victory by '19 to'lo. The play on the whole showed an improvement, the excellent putting of W. Harris being responsible for his aide winninar.
A number of towlers of the Helensville Club intend journeying to Riverhead on Saturday to play a return match with the Club there.
