OBITUARY.
JAMES HENHY HTKiHES
We are serry to record the death of one of Helensville's oldest residents Mr Jas. Henry Hughes, at the age of 78 years, who passed away on the 17th inst. The deceased who came to Colony 37 years ago was one of the first grangers to work on the Auck-land-Helensville section, coming- to reside hero shortly afterwards, "and being a resident of"30 years standing. On his arrival, the present township was all ti-tree, since then he has seen the rise and fall of the town to its present progressive position. Deceased's remains were interred in the Helensville Cemetery on Sunday, 19th inst. He leaves a wife and family to mourn their loss.
