HELENSVILLE SHOW.

The weather during Monday and Tuesday was very boisterous and uncertain, but not withstanding, the committee worked hard putting the finishing touches to the grounds, erecting tents, etc., and the exhibitors were busy bringing in their exhibits. The judges of the tent exhibits gave their awards during the afternoon, and although the entries were not so large as last year, yet they were of a good order, and there was keen competition in a number of classes. The number of entries in these classes was 190. In the horse classes there are 265 entries, and the post entries for a number of open events is expected to be large. Cattle entries number 160 ; pigs are poor, only about ten entries being received ; sheep are better than last year owing to better classing being adopted this year, the number of entries being over 80. Taking all round; the entries of stock is the best yet obtained, and the quality of the exhibits are above the average. The catering is in the hands of Mr Sinclair, of Auckland, who is prepared for large crowds of visitors during the afternoon. Mr J. F. Lambert has a number of gigs, etc., set out in a large tent, which shows the class of work turned out by his firm to be of the first order. This year there aie more side shows than usual, including Captain William McLeod's Wild West (4 artists) expert lassoo throwing, rope spinning, sharpshooting and Merican bowie knife throwing;'McMahon's circus is also on the ground, and will give exhibitions of rough ridingj tightrope walking, etc. SHOW DAY. The weather this morning was bright for the Fourteenth Annual Show, and fair numbers arrived by the early trains from both north and south, and if the weather holds out a record attendance and a successful afternoons sport should be the result.
