THE RIGHT OF STRIKE.

Australia and the Old Country are supplying reasons against the strike right. The Australian High Court of Justice has decided recently that for a trade dispute to go beyond the boundaries of the state in which it originates it must be a valid dispute, not a thing engineered by a few individuals with an inkbottle and a few sheets of paper. Which proves to us or rather re-» minds us that there is a practice of rtying to extend disputes by improper representations beyond the legitimate original boundaries. For this kin dof thing, the right of strike is regarded as a powerful stimulant. It is a strong reason why the strike should go by the board. From England comes news of a strike based on something like the right to abolish the right of a master insisting on the sobriety of his man. Even in the case of a railway engine driver the stand for this unprincipled, principle has been backed by a strike on a rather big scale. Another reason for sweeping away the right of strike.
