A wedding of local interest was sol" emnised in St. Matthew's Church, Helensville, on Wednesday last, 11th December, the Rev. C J. Mtrton officiate ing, when Mr W. E. Nicholls, second son of Mr R. Nicholls, of Parkhurst, was joined in bands of holy matrimony to Miss Theressa McDonald, youngest daughter of Mr J. McDonald, of Parkhurst. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked pretty in a white messaline silk frock, daintily trimmed with silk and pearl insertion, the yoke and cuffs being df silk allover lace. She wore the orthodox wedding veil,, nnd carried a beautiful bouquet of Christmas lillies, white roses and white sweet pea, relieved with asparagus fern. She was attended by her sister, Miss I, McDonald, who wore, a dainty frock of cream taffetta, richly trimmed with cream silk lace and insertion, the front of the skirt|being adorned by two rows of tiny white satin buttons. Bet hat was of white lace with lancer plumes, and she carried a bouquet of pink sweet pea and asparagus fern. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr J. Nicholls, as best man. The briuegroom's present to the bride was a handsome gold book locket and fine gold chain, and to the bridesmaid, a pretty gold brooch. The church was prettily decorated by friends of the bride, with white pincushions and roses on the altar, and arum lillies, white roses and holly round the font. After the ceremony the bridal party drove to " Nestle Brae," Parkhurst, the residence of the bride's parents, where a sumptuous wedding breakfast awaited them and the u«sual toa»ts were duly honoured. The presents, numbering nearly one hundred, were both handsome and costly, showing +ha wide tsteem in which the young couple were held by their many friends. The happy couple left by the afternoon express amid showers of rice -and good wishes from their many friends. The bride's travelling dress was a navy blue oloth costume, trimmed with military braid, and pretty lagoon blue hat. In the evening a large number of friends were entertained by the bride's parents at a social evening in the Parakai Hall, and dancing was indulged ' in till the small hours of the morning, ' to music supplied by Miss Rimmer, After supper Mr J. McLeod, on behalf of the guests, tnanked Mr and Mrs McDonald for the very pleasant evening they had spent, and wished the, absent bride and bridegroom health and happiness in the future. Mr X J.
