THE AUCKLAND SHOW
REC< )ED ATTENDANCE,
The Metropolitan Spring Show of the Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Association opened at the Cambell Show Grounds at Epsom last Thursday, and continued till Saturday, and proved a record for attendance and entries, over 40,000 people from all parts were present, and the takings amounted to about JJ.IIOO. The total of entries was about 1,700. There were a great number of entries from the Far North, which is evidence of development, and the Show of 1912 is conspicuous as an indication of the remarkable progress of the North Island in relation to the primary industries of the soil. In the prize list we notice the following local winners : — J. Marshall, 3rd A.M.R., third in the Leading Competition (for Mounted Rifles Territorials). Miss Z. Kelly and Mr T. H. Callagher, 3rd, in the Dual Jumping Competition. J. Dickey, Ist, and J. Marshall 3rd, in the Victoria Cross Conipetitition. Mr F. Dye's Starlight tied with several others in the Leaping Match. Master C. Kelly, Ist, for Best Boy Rider. R. Nicholls. Ist, Entire Colt, 2 years ; and, Yearling Filly; Ist Mare, any age, in foal. R. Farrell, 2nd, Mare with foal at foot.
