"ADVERTIER" ESSAY COMPETITION.
Subject:— HELENSYILLE HOT SPRINGS.
RESULTS v The above competition closed iast week when there were 10 entries received-5 from the Te Pua School, 3 from Helensville School," and one each from Woodhill and Parkhurst Schools. The essays were handed to the juages, Messrs J. E. Page and H. W, btnnger, the Editor retaining the names. The judges report that the composition in most cases was fairly good, but the spelling and punctua tion generally was bad. The possible number of marks were 10, 7 being the highest awarded, the first two essays were very close and on the suggestion of the judges a second prize will be given. Following are the Vinners whose essays wili be published during the next two weeks: Eileen J^ssell, Std. 6, Te Pua School, 7 marks, ist prize, ss. Henry Bates, Std. 5, Helensville School, 6£ maiks, 2nd prize. 2s 6d. ' r Trixey Wharton, Std. 5, Helensville bchool, 6 marks, 3rd The subject for the next competition when closes about the 13th Decent ber will be published later.
