It is reported that nearly a million trees, valued at £20,000, have been condemned by the Agricultural Department within the past few weeks owing to their being affected by a> disease known as crowm gall, or hairy root. It has been suggested in Parliament that the course adopted is too drastic, and the Prime Minister has promised to make careful inquiry into the matter.
