ENTERTAINMENT.
A. very successful entertainment was held in the Foresters' Hall last evens ing, in aid of the Presbyterian Church Funds, the large Hall being filled with a very enthusiastic audience. The first part opened with a pianoforte selection by Miss Little, after which followed dumb bell exercises, club swinging, and floral march by young girls who had been carefully coached by Mr Kirgan, a pianoforte duet by Mrs LaKoche and her son, and a song by Mr Lowe, the latter receiving an encore for his character song "I was standing on the corner of the street."
The second part was devoted to tableaux from the familiar nursery rhyme " Little liod Hiding Hood."' The name part was taken by little Marie Stewart, who scored a decided succeus, her enunciation being1 distinct and her acting very natural and unaffected. Misses Doris Simcock (as Queen of the Fairies) and Dolly Kea (Eed ."Riding Hood's Mother) were also exceed-* mgty good in their respective charac' ters, while Mrs llaan deserves every credit for her representation of the Grandmother, her singing of ''The Cottage by the Sea " being distinctly good. The other characters were all well sustained.
Every piaise to due to Mr Kirgan for the time and patience he bestowed in training the children, which was amply rewarded by the enthusiastic reception given to each item by the large audience, Mrs Laßoohe and Miss Stewart wore the accompanists.
