WAITEMATA COUNTY COUNCIL.

The monthly meeting of the Waitemata Connty Council, held oil Fiiday at the Council offices, Swanson Street, was attended by Messrs. A. Cockraix (chairman,), Dye, Greenwood, Day. Kerr-Taylor, Poynton, McCathie, and Laing. On the motion of the chairman, a rate of nine-farthings in the pound was struck for tha Takapuna riding. On the motion of Mr, Taylor, it was decided to instruct the Council's solicitors to draft the necessary by-law, in connection with the Takapurm Water Supply. A number of residents wrote, calling attention to the condition of Tiri Road, which was so bad that people ere riding and driving on the footpath. The Engineer reported as follows :— Kuraeu Riding.—l have laid out the new road from the Waimauku vVest Coast Road to the boundary of Hanekau Block, and have the work ready for letting. The length of new road is 98 chain wide, and crosses the property of Mrs Foster and Mrs Fletcher, and they both require the new road to be fenced and the old road transferred to them in consideration fur the new road. Wairero Road, —Cr. Taylor and myself met the settlers interested in this road, when it was unanimously decided that it was desirable that the construction of the proposed deviation should be pushed on. Metal. — Appended is a letter that I have received from the member for Matakana Riding of the Rodney • County Council resupply of metal. I think a trial order of 300 yards should be placed with the Rodney County Council for the Wade landing, '- "
