MURUWAI NEWS.

(A Correspondent.)

The Muruwai residents, after having a school in the district for over 20 years, managed by one of the oldest settlers, which has shown good results at the annual examinations, have recently petitioned the Auckland Education Board to allow a school committee to be elected to control the school. So far no word has been received from the Board. We believe there are a number who refused to sign the petition, being satisfied

with the way the school business

been managed in the past. We believe one item of dissension is the present position of the school building, which is at the mercy of all winds and weathers, with no proper playground for the children.
